Are Mobile Air Conditioner worth the hype ?
Air
conditioners have been in use for a long time now. But mobile air conditioners
are relatively new to the market.
A mobile air
conditioner, as the name suggests, is a type of air conditioning system that
can be moved from one location to another as needed with ease on wheels. It is
different than other types of air conditioner because it can be installed
permanently or temporarily. Temporary installation makes it possible to cool
areas with high heat indexes for events such as concerts, sporting events, and
festivals.
Mobile air
conditioners can be found in many places, including homes, offices, or
vehicles. They are generally used in places where there is not a lot of room
for a conventional air conditioning unit.
They also
work well in places where the temperature fluctuates often, like construction
sites, or where you need to set up an air conditioned environment quickly.
How does a mobile air conditioner
work?
You may be
wondering how a mobile air conditioning unit works?
Well, a
mobile air conditioner works like a standard air conditioner or cooling system.
It uses a specialized chemical called refrigerant, and has three main
mechanical components: a compressor, a condenser coil and an evaporator coil.
These
components work together to quickly convert the refrigerant gas to liquid and
back again. The compressor raises the pressure and temperature of the
refrigerant gas and sends it to the condenser coil where it is converted to a
liquid. The refrigerant travels back indoors and enters the evaporator coil.
Here the liquid refrigerant evaporates and cools the indoor coil.
A fan blows
indoor air across the cold evaporator coil where the heat inside the home is
absorbed into the refrigerant. The cooled air is then circulated throughout the
home while the heated evaporated gas is sent back outside to the compressor.
The heat is
then released into the outdoor air as the refrigerant returns to a liquid
state. This cycle continues until your home has reached the desired
temperature.
Are mobile air conditioners worth the
hype?
Speaking
with years of experience not only as a dealer in air conditioners, but also as
a company that provides air conditioner maintenance, yes, they are worth the
hype.
If you don’t
want to spend a lot on an AC installation, then you should consider a mobile
air conditioner instead. There are many benefits to using one in your home.
▪ Mobility: The main benefits of using mobile
air conditioners are their mobility. It is easy to transport from one space to
another and can keep a room cool without any side effects like the ones that
regular air conditioners have.
For
instance, you can use the mobile AC in your bedroom at night and move it to the
sitting room during the daytime. You do not have to buy two air conditioners in
the two rooms. That will even help you save more money.
▪ Takes up a little space: If you live in
an apartment or condo and have limited space, then this is the perfect option
for you. A mobile AC unit does not need duct work which means that it will not
take up much space in your living room.
▪ Efficient and cost-effective: These
units use less electricity than traditional AC systems and they usually run on
electricity rather than gas or propane which will save you money on your next
bill. They are extremely efficient and can be used in any climate.
▪ Requires little-to-no maintenance: Mobile ACs require little or no
maintenance because. They are easy to install because they do not need a window
or ductwork. You can simply clean them with a dry piece of cloth, and they are
good as new. You can contact us if you have any issues.
▪ Relatively affordable: The prices of the mobile air
conditioners are relatively affordable because they do not come with different
external components or require other installation elements.
▪ It gives you access to your
windows: For
apartments with only a few windows, blocking the only source of natural light
with a chunky window unit could be a non-starter. Mobile air conditioners also
allow you some flexibility about where you place the unit to work with the
traffic flow in your room. Window units, not so much.
▪ It is ready to use right out of the
box: You do not need
any help installing a mobile air conditioner — or a friend to help you lift it
into place in your window. This means you do not have to drill holes in the
wall and pay installation fee.
You will not
even need any tools if you get a handy window kit to fit the exhaust hose in
place with your window a few inches ajar. All you must do is plug it in to beat
the heat.
As they say,
nothing is perfect. Mobile air conditioners also have disadvantages too. Some
of these disadvantages include:
▪ Less efficient compared to regular
ACs: Mobile air
conditioners are not as efficient as regular ACs. Mobile ACs will generate less
power than a regular one which means it will take more time to cool down the
environment.
▪ Produces Much Noise: If you cannot
concentrate on whatever you do when there is noise, the mobile AC may not be an
ideal option. These ACs are known to produce a lot of noise compared to their
counterparts.
