Common Reasons Your Bona Freezer Stopped Working

If you have a Bona Solar Freezer at home and it's not working properly, there are a few things you can check. Don't worry if you're not a technical person – we'll explain everything in simple terms. Here are the common problems and solutions for your solar freezer:

1. Your Wire diameter is too small:
One of the main reasons your solar freezer may not be working well is because of the power supply. Unlike regular fridges, solar freezers use a different kind of power. Check the cables that connect the freezer to the batteries in your house. Make sure the cables are thick enough and the connections are good. A small or weak cable can damage your Bona solar freezer compressor in no time, due to voltage fluctuation from Your battery to your freezer.

2. Battery Issues:
The batteries in your solar system can sometimes get damaged. If your batteries are not working properly, they won't provide enough power to the freezer. Signs of battery problems include quick recharging, bulging sides, warmth during charging, and a quick drop in voltage when the freezer is running. If you notice these signs, you may need to replace the batteries.

3. Not Enough Solar Panels or Battery Capacity:

If you don't have enough solar panels or your battery capacity is too small, your freezer may not work properly. This is especially true on cloudy days or during the night when there's less sunlight. Consider adding more solar panels and using a special controller to make sure your batteries get charged even when the weather is bad. see our recommendation for Bona Solar freezer here.

4. Not Enough Ventilation:
Your freezer needs good airflow to work properly. If the area behind the freezer is blocked or dirty, it can't get rid of the heat properly, so it runs for longer periods. Make sure there's enough space around the freezer for air to circulate. Also, clean the back of the freezer regularly to remove any dust or dirt. Ensure you move your freezer from the wall, to give room for proper airflow around your compressor.

5.Damaged Door Seal:
Check the seal around the door of your freezer. If it's damaged or not fitting properly, cold air can leak out, and the compressor will have to work harder. To check the seal, place a flashlight inside the freezer at night and see if any light comes out around the door. If the seal is not good, use a hairdryer to warm it up and make it more flexible, so it seals tightly.

By following these simple steps, you can troubleshoot and fix many common issues with your Bona Solar Freezer. Remember to check the power supply, batteries, connections, temperature settings, ventilation, and door seal. With proper maintenance, your solar freezer will work efficiently and keep your food cold for a long time.
